Shalom Shalom! This is an online journal for friends and family of my return back to Israel, after many years of absence, to pursue graduate studies in Economics. I promise to keep politics out of this and just focus on the day to day tribulations of life in Israel. Enjoy, feel free to comment, and come visit me anytime!

2nd Semester

One of the more irritating things this school year has been that I really didn't have a semester break. Technically the semester ended Jan. 28th, and the 2nd Semester doesn't start until Feb 25th, but during the break is when they have finals, and on top of that I had a crazy last minute trip to the states to interview and see people.

What is worse is that I have no break between finals and the next semester. My Econometrics final is Thursday, then Sunday at 9am I am already starting up again. Check out the schedule for next semester: There are definite benefits to this semester over last. First, no Friday classes, and second, the classes later in the week start late, at noon. On the other hand last semester I had both Monday and Tuesday off, this semester I only have Tuesdays. Lastly, the Thursday evening class is going to be tough, end of the week, from 5 to 8pm... I would prefer to have it on Monday evening, but what can you do. In addition to this, I'm going to add a mini-course in Trade and FDI which I hope will be interesting. Mini courses are only worth one semester hour, meet once a week for 2 hours and last only 5 sessions. They are usually about really interesting topics, like last semester there was one in Economics of Religion.
